The Carrabassett Region New England Mountain Bike Association (CRNEMBA) invites all Kingfield POPS attendees to join us for an introductory guided mountain bike ride on Sunday morning; June 28 at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center located in Carrabassett Valley. The Outdoor Center is a short 13 mile drive north of Kingfield on Route 27. Riders of all abilities and ages are welcome; we especially want to encourage younger riders and families to join us on this ride. CRNEMBA will provide guides who are familiar with the trail network; and will organize smaller groups as appropriate to interests and riding desires. There is no charge to ride the trails or for this guided ride. The rides are designed to introduce you to the sport of mountain biking, and will be run at a pace that is fun and safe for each group. There will be lots of re-grouping and stops to enjoy the wonderful vistas and quiet spots on the trail. You can also learn more about the mountain bike club, what we do, and plans for future trail development. If you have not been on a mountain bike for a while; or you are new to mountain biking and have wondered if it is for you, come join us. We believe you will be in for a pleasant surprise! Riding these trails is FUN! Significant work has been completed over the past 4 years in designing and building a trail network for all levels of riders. Our trail network has been recognized by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine (2013) and Yankee Magazine as the best in New England (2014). If you would like to rent a bike, there are a limited number of bikes available for rent from Carrabassett Valley Bike, located at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. What you need to bring: • A bike- a mountain bike (larger tires) is preferable, but a hybrid bike will also work on many trails. • A bike helmet • Water • Snacks, if you would like!
